High surf advisory canceled for Big Isle
Weather officials canceled a high surf advisory for the Big Isle posted earlier this morning.
The moderate swell generated by a fast-retreating Hurricane Oho prompted forecasters to issue a high surf advisory for the east-facing shores of Hawaii island around 3 a.m. this morning. However, wave heights dropped faster than expected, as measured by the Hilo buoy.
The advisory was canceled shortly after 10 a.m. today.
