New York City tops Honolulu in sushi bar ranking
While seated at Sushi Sasabune's sushi bar, you can order only the omakase.
Mainland markets have again bested Honolulu in an annual ranking of the 35 Best Sushi Bars in America.
The ranking is prepared by The Daily Meal, an online portal covering all things culinary.
The Big Apple topped Honolulu and other U.S. cities with 10 sushi bars on its list. Los Angeles has eight, Florida has four, and Hawaii has three.
The Hawaii sushi bars and where they rank on the online publication’s top 35, are Honolulu’s Sushi Sasabune (25), Sushi Paradise, in Kihei (31), and the four locations of Sansei (34).
The Daily Meal enlisted the expertise of what the online publication calls leading culinary authorities in compiling its annual ranking.
Sushi Sasabune had been ranked 22nd on the 2014 list, which did not include any other Hawaii sushi bars.
