Police search for suspect after pair of early-morning robberies in town

Police responded to two unrelated early-morning robberies in Kapahulu and Kapiolani today, and made an arrest in the second case.

Police are still looking for the man who entered a Kaimuki Avenue home at 1:05 a.m and fled with a wallet.

The suspect entered the Kapahulu home through an unlocked front door and threatened a 56-year-old man and 63-year-old woman.

He fled to Crane Park across the street with the man’s wallet, but police were unable to find him. Police have classified the case as first-degree robbery.

Two hours later, a 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of second-degree robbery after he alleged threatened and robbed a 31-year-old man at McCully Street and Kapiolani Boulevard.

Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division are handling the case, classified as a a first-degree robbery.
