Emergency personnel assist 3 swimmers in trouble at Yokohama Bay

Three swimmers were in trouble near the area of a sea cave at the end of Yokohama Bay known as the “Moi Hole” this afternoon.

Emergency Medical Services sent three ambulances to respond to the swimmers.

EMS received a call at about 2:40 p.m. of the situation.

Two of the swimmers received cuts, but were able to make it out of the water on their own, Shayne Enright, spokeswoman for the Honolulu Emergency Services Department.

At least one of the two was in serious condition.

Ocean Safety and firefighters responded to the third patient, whose condition is unknown, Enright said at 3:30 p.m.

EMS personnel are on scene with the patient, she said.
