Prosecutors charged a 13-year-old old boy with second-degree attempted murder after he allegedly stabbed another 13-year-old boy in the chest Sunday during an argument at a Kalihi public housing apartment.

The matter will be handled by Family Court.

The victim, according to the suspect’s aunt, is in stable condition with chest wounds. The aunt said the stabbing was an accident.

The stabbing occurred in the suspect’s apartment at the corner of McNeill and Kaiwiula streets in the Kaahumanu Homes public housing complex.
