OCCC inmate missing after furlough as woman inmate recaptured


Authorities are looking for a 40-year-old Oahu Correctional Center inmate who failed to return from a work furlough as a woman inmate was recaptured over the weekend. 

A Department of Public Safety spokeswoman said Aaron Maxwell, who is is serving time for second-degree assault, was supposed to return to the prison at 8 p.m. Sunday, but did not check in. 

Maxwell is 5 feet 11 inches and weighs 177 pounds. He has long brown hair and brown eyes. 

Meanwhile, Regina Toro, 45 , who is serving time for forgery and identity theft, was captured in Kalihi Saturday night after she failed to return from a work furlough pass Nov. 4. 

Toro had been scheduled for a parole hearing on Nov. 20, now she is expected to be charged with escape.
