Coast Guard searching for possible missing person after jet ski found at Kualoa

The Coast Guard is searching for a possible missing person after an unattended jet ski was found at Kualoa Beach Park on Saturday.

A HC-130 Hercules aircrew from Air Station Barbers Point searched area waters looking for anyone who may have been aboard the jet ski.

Anyone with information that may help identify the owner or operator of the jet ski is asked to contact the Coast Guard Sector Honolulu Command Center at 842-2600.

Department of Land and Natural Resources personnel contacted the Coast Guard about 5 p.m. after finding the black and yellow jet ski on the beach.

The registration number on the side of the vessel is HA1219H.

There were no reported signs of distress or missing persons in the area.

Well, before calling out the Cavalry over a jet ski on the beach, maybe they should start their investigation by contacting the jet ski’s registered owner. What a concept!
