Police ask for help in finding hit-and-run driver
CrimeStoppers and Honolulu Police are asking for the public’s help to find a hit-and-run driver who critically injured a man in Waianae earlier this month.
At about 3:55 a.m. on Feb. 3, a white van hit a 27-year-old man crossing Farrington Highway near Piliokahi Avenue and fled the scene, CrimeStoppers said in a news release.
The man’s father heard the crash and found him lying on the highway. Paramedics took the victim to the hospital in critical condition. He has no recollection of the accident, police said.
The van may have front-end damages.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call CrimeStoppers at (808) 955-8300 or *CRIME on a cell phone. The public may also send anonymous texts and web tips by texting “CS808” plus a message to 274637.
