In 1980 Las Vegas suffered the worst hotel fire ever, the MGM Grand Hotel. 87 people died, worst disaster in Nevada history. State responded by requiring sprinklers in every hotel. No grandfather exclusions, every hotel in the state. Since then there has never been a fire like it.

One would think Hawaii would have learned from this, required all hotels and apartments to install sprinklers. But nooo, elected bureaucrats just did what they do best, kick the can down the road.

Just another day in the little 8th world of Hawaii Nei.
