LOS ANGELES » The dust has barely settled from “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” but audiences already have a new installment to get excited for.

The world got a glimpse of “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” in a teaser trailer that debuted today on “Good Morning America.” The movie looks back to the events before 1977’s “A New Hope,” introducing the ragtag rebels who unite to steal plans for the Death Star.

One of them is Felicity Jones from “The Theory of Everything.” The film directed by Gareth Edwards also stars Diego Luna, Forest Whitaker and Ben Mendelsohn.

It’s the first in a series of spinoff films set in the “Star Wars” universe that will include a young Han Solo story.

“Rogue One” hits theaters on Dec. 16.

Another unimpressive skinny girl as the lead? Sigh. I thought they already paid their PC dues with that girl in the last movie. Or maybe Disney is using these movies to try to expand their action figure market to little girls.

That girl don’t look like she can beat anyone up.

The Star Wars rehash is boring is because it is basically the same thing as before except now just politically correct with a dark skinned male hero and an unassuming white female to save the universe from evil because she is the one blessed with the extra “force” within her. They could have made the heroine hot and saxy but that would turn off most of the parents with young children paying big money to see the movie. Although not stated, it is assumed they tried to make it engaging as the heroine has to battle her evil brother, both of whom are children of Solo and Leia.
