Clarifications

>> George Atta, director of the Honolulu Department of Planning and Permitting, said the city has consistently opposed state legislation that exempts certain farm structures on agriculture land from the building permit process. A Page A1 story Sunday about Kunia Loa Ridge Farmlands quoted Hawaii Farm Bureau Executive Director Brian Miyamoto as saying that during a 2014 meeting Atta acknowledged that the situation at Kunia Loa was “not really the fault of the legislation.” Atta disputes that characterization of his comments.
