2 officers shot in New Hampshire; search on for shooter

Police stand guard as the search continues for a suspect who shot two police officers overnight Friday, May 13, 2016, in Manchester, N.H. Authorities say the officers were shot early in the morning and are recovering at hospitals.
MANCHESTER, N.H. >> Two New Hampshire police officers were shot Friday and a manhunt is underway for an armed suspect, police in Manchester said.
Police Chief Nick Willard said the two officers were shot at separate locations after 2 a.m., and they are recovering at hospitals and expected to be OK. Manchester Mayor Ted Gatsas said the officers “seem to be fine.”
There was no immediate word on the extent of the officers’ injuries, and no details about the shootings have been released.
Floyd Johnson lives near one of the shooting sites on Manchester’s west side. He said he awoke to the sound of multiple gunshots at about 2:15 a.m. Seconds later, “all the police swarmed in,” Johnson said.
He said he told his 13-year-old son to get on the floor. Police also told Johnson to stay put, away from the windows.
Johnson said he’s lived on the west side all his life, and he’s never seen anything like this before.
Willard said police are searching for the suspected shooter, described as a white man with long hair who is wearing a trench coat. He is considered armed and dangerous. A Massachusetts state police helicopter is assisting in the search.
A number of schools in the area were closed Friday, and some residents were told to shelter in place during the search.

Black lives matter. But lawbreakers lives matter less than cop lives. So where are the mass demonstrations for “Cop lives matter?”
By law in many places, cop lives do matter, and in fact matter more than your average citizen’s life. Like it or not, believe it’s right or not, that’s why taking a cop’s life can get an assailant enhanced sentencing. Why? Because an attack on a symbol of authority, a cop, is considered an attack on society itself, not just against a single individual.
Aww… Too bad the shooter was described as white. If he weren’t, it would a least give you a chance at keeping your reason-challenged consistency rating. But you’ll grasp at any straw won’t you? Even one sticking out of a cow pie.
