Six dogs were taken from the Kauai Humane Society shelter in a burglary over the weekend, police said today.
The suspect or suspects cut a side gate lock to gain access to the dogs sometime after nightfall Saturday night and before 5:30 a.m. Sunday.
The stolen dogs include three female dogs, which are pit bull mixes, ranging from 2 to 7 years old, and two female Airedale terriers, ages 2 and 5.
The suspect also stole a 2-month-old female Labrador mix puppy, named Arianna, who is microchipped.
The Humane Society of the United States is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the persons responsible for the burglary.
Anyone with information is asked to call police at 241-1711. Anonymous calls may be made to CrimeStoppers at 246-8300.
It’s going to be pretty hard to hide six barking dogs especially on Kauai.
