rail would have solved all of this…………

Or bus — oh wait. The present solution is: bike, walk/jog, if base access kayak across Pearl Harbor mouth or the ex-water taxi, live East of Salt Lake, or work the night shift.

lol. You know someone in our family on the WestSide said the State or C&C which ever it is is trying to get the “Bike Lanes” done at on Farrington in Nana’s. He heard that at the meeting. UNREAL! as they could use another lane in/out of Nana’s or even used that money on an alternate street past Nana’s.

        • Pocho says:

and on another note WHY I’m voting for TheDonald. This planned Bike Path in Nana’s is just being PC! that just takes away from what’s really needed there, another couple of lanes for it’s horrendous traffice in/out of the WestSide!

The Waianae coast needs a network of streets/roads/paths similar to the relief Ewa Beach residences has with North-South Rd & Kapolei Parkway alternative. Less cul-de-sacs (street hierarchy), more grid network. But a widen Farrington Hwy in Nanakuli would not have helped the traffic congestion experience today — ask a Pearl City resident.

I’m curious to see the cost sheet that shows a street accommodating cars/buses/trucks is cheaper than a bike path or a shared path accommodating the “heavy load” a person walking or biking exerts on said infrastructure?

Just past by going opposite direction east bound. Traffic westbound looks really bad, stop and go solid all the way back to town by Liliha on ramp for now, and it’s not even rush hour traffic yet.

Closure was reported at 1:20 it’s almost 3, lanes still closed? Talk about Operating on Hawaiian Time! So Lose Money!

Took us over hour and a half to get from Pali Momi to Waipio via Moanalua Road behind Pearl Highlands to H2. One girl walking by Walmart beat us to the corner. We should’ve stopped somewhere to eat dinner.

    Poor accident response

Is there any way the state can notify drivers via radio or cellphone alerts. There were no radio broadcasts
about the road closures until someone called a radio station to inquire about this traffic mess. Didn’t they just build a transportation facility that was supposed to be able to coordinate EFFORTS between city and state officials about these transportation problems. We need police officers on the road to facilitate traffic during these type of road closures. Did you see any on the freeway trying to help motorists….We need officers at intersections to expedite the flow of traffic on Kamehameha Hwy, Moanalua Road and Farrington Hwy. If accidents occur like this again and you (state and city officials) do nothing…YOU WILL AGAIN BE CONFRONTED BY THIS TRAFFIC MESS
