COURTESY ATTORNEY GENERAL’S OFFICE

Andrew Patyjewicz

The Attorney General Office’s is asking for help in finding a 35-year-old Honolulu man accused of distributing and possessing child pornography.

An Oahu grand jury indicted Andrew Patyjewicz on Feb. 25 on two counts of second-degree promoting child abuse — a class B felony, court records show. Each count is punishable by up to 10 years in prison. A bench warrant was issued and bail was set at $11,000, but he was never taken into custody, the Attorney General’s Office said in a news release..

Patyjewicz is accused of possessing and disseminating images and videos of children being sexually exploited. He had 57 videos containing children being sexually abused, and 12 of the videos showed children under the age of twelve, according to the Attorney General’s Office.

The office’s Hawaii Internet Crimes Against Children unit investigated the case.

Patyjewicz is 6 feet, 1 inches, about 200 pounds, and has blue eyes and brown hair.

Anyone with information on Patyjewicz is asked to call investigators in the Attorney General’s Office at 586-1240.

It’s great that a photo is included with this article. But too many times the photo has been lacking in other searches for suspects.

  2. HanabataDays says:

Never taken into custody, well that was a bit of a slip-up, eh?

    • pohaku96744 says:

No, this is part of the process. Case was presented to Grand Jury which returned with true bill, arrest warrant. Makes a stronger case for prosecution.

      • Cellodad says:

Absolutely correct. Intake at the Prosecutor’s Office won’t touch an incomplete or sloppy case. Their stats depend on pleas and wins in court.

This must be a mental disorder , it is insanity. How can a normal person be aroused by a child?

Got to ask Freud on that one. However did learn in sociology class that people have to be learn what is ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ and that is culturally determined. For example incest is forbidden in pretty much all cultures, EXCEPT for the ruling class of a society. Russian, English and even the Hawaiian royalty enocuraged incest among the royal family members in an attmept to preserve the ‘royal’ blood lines. That did not always work out well from a genetic standpoint. Same thing with pedophiles which is could have been a learned behavior from abusive or problem parents. Yes, the problem could be organic and express itself even with loving supportive parents. In the past, when people died early due to starvation, disease, and violence as soon as a child hits puberty and can reproduce, environmental pressures pushed for children capable or reproducing to have children early before they die. This is no longer true, unfortunately not everyone got the memo on that one. The current US judicial system is reflecting societal norms go hard on pedos and when they catch this guy chances are he will spend the full 20 yrs in prison. It is also follows societal pressure that when this guy goes to prison and he is identified as a pedophile, the other inmates will go after him with their own sense of prison justice and he might not ever make it out of prison in one piece, which is okay as well.
