Thousands show up to support Trump at Sacramento rally
SACRAMENTO, Calif. » Thousands of supporters of presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump gathered at the Sacramento airport to hear him take on the familiar targets of Hillary Clinton and the loss of U.S. jobs.
About 5,000 supporters showed up at the Wednesday evening rally at Sacramento International Airport, where they watched Trump arrive and depart in his campaign plane with the theme from the Harrison Ford movie “Air Force One” playing. Several hundred people were turned away.
Trump spoke of Hillary Clinton, who was endorsed by the state’s Gov. Jerry Brown a day earlier, saying “she doesn’t know what the hell she’s doing,” and if she’s elected “It’s going to be another four years of disaster.”
He said her husband Bill Clinton’s policies cost Sacramento and the rest of the country manufacturing jobs.
The thousands of supporters had to file past several dozen chanting protesters, though far fewer than the hundreds who have demonstrated outside his other California events. There were no arrests or other problems amid the heavy security, authorities said.
Protester James Faygo Clark used a bullhorn at the rally to label trump a “loser,” and “fascist.”

Clark said Trump was part of the establishment despite his running as an outsider.
“His greatest claim to fame is telling people ‘you’re fired,’ Clark said, referring to Trump’s time on the reality TV show “The Apprentice.” ”We need more than that in a president.”
Across a row of riot-helmeted police, Jake Towe used his own bullhorn to retort that Trump can’t be stopped.
“I believe in Donald Trump,” Towe said. “I believe our country is getting taken over by people who don’t care about America.”
