Hawaii island man charged with assaulting man in wheelchair
Hawaii island police charged a 35-year-old Pahoa man today in connection with an assault on a man in a wheelchair on June 7.
The assault allegedly occurred around 1:16 a.m. in Pahoa town. The victim is a 57-year-old man who uses a wheelchair and does not have a permanent address.
The suspect, Christopher Mohrland, turned himself in to police today and was arrested and charged with two counts of third-degree assault.
He was released after posting $1,000 bail.
