Firefighters airlift hiker off Nuuanu trail
Honolulu firefighters assisted the Honolulu Police Department in transporting a man from the Lulumahu trail in Nuuanu on Monday evening.
The man was the same person who was the subject of a missing person alert issued earlier on Monday.
The man was located on the trail around 7:22 p.m., treated for injuries and airlifted to a landing zone established at the Nuuanu Reservoir, where he was transferred to the care of waiting paramedics around 7:55 p.m.
Sixteen fire rescue personnel participated in the operation.
