Star chef to offer free taste of his food via food truck
Celebrity chef Michael Mina will offer a free preview of his soon-to-open Stripsteak restaurant in public food-truck events Wednesday and Thursday at four Honolulu locations.
Mina, the award-winning chef behind the 27 restaurants in the Mina Group, opens Stripsteak in the International Market Place Aug. 25.
The company today announced that it will equip a food truck to introduce Mina’s cuisine in these lunch and happy-hour appearances:
>> Wednesday: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Bishop Square, Alakea and Beretania streets; 4 to 7 p.m., Honolulu Farmers Market, Blaisdell Concert Hall lawn.
>> Thursday: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. King and Punchbowl streets; 4:30 to 9 p.m., Makers and Tasters, 1011 Ala Moana Blvd.
Bite-size versions of these items will be handed out free: a cheeseburger slider with Maui onions, pork spare ribs with spicy pineapple relish and charred Mexican corn, and a chilled shrimp and onaga bowl. Drinks: Mina’s version of a Hawaiian Punch with guava, orange, papaya, pineapple and lilikoi juices and coconut milk horchata.
