Maui homicide detectives are looking for several armed men in connection with the shooting death of a man in a Kahului home early this morning.

Police were called to a home on Kea Street at 2:50 a.m. to investigate a report of a group of armed males threatening people at a residence.

They found an adult male with an apparent gunshot wound in a storage room in the back of the carport.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The case has been classified as a second-degree murder investigation.

The suspects had fled the area before the police arrived.
