“Hawaii Five-0” actor Alex O’Loughlin took a group selfie with fans before the show’s Season 7 premiere at Sunset on the Beach on Friday in Waikiki.

About 7,000 dedicated “Hawaii Five-0” fans showed up Friday night for the CBS drama’s annual season premiere at Sunset on the Beach in Waikiki.

The seventh season curtain-raiser screened after the red carpet arrival of many of the show’s stars, who have been shooting episodes since July.

Fans traveled from all over the world to catch a glimpse of the stars, who signed autographs and posed for photos as they made their way down the red carpet on a warm evening.

The beachside event has become a tradition for “Hawaii Five-0” and CBS, which holds the event to say thank you to fans, especially those who live in Hawaii. In previous years, the event was held prior to the network premiere, but this year it was held on the same day. In the islands, “Hawaii Five-0” aired at 8 p.m. Friday on CBS.

Grammy-winning artist Darius Rucker performed prior to the premiere.

Among the stars attending the event were Alex O’Loughlin, Scott Caan, Daniel Dae Kim, Jorge Garcia, Chi McBride and Teilor Grubbs.
