Chance the Rapper sings to himself in a Halloween-themed Kit Kat commercial from the Anomaly agency.

Chance the Rapper, an upbeat hip hop star whose 2016 release “Coloring Book” rose to No. 8 on Billboard’s albums chart, sold out a Jan. 7 show at Blaisdell Arena in hours. A second arena show has now been added for Jan. 8, with tickets to go on sale Saturday at 9 a.m.

The rapper, known for his vibrant rhymes and jazzy, retro beats has been steadily rising in popularity since the release of “Coloring Book,” boosted by guest appearances including Kanye West and Justin Bieber.

In recent weeks, a televised Kit Kat commercial has also boosted his name recognition: The Halloween-themed spot shows Chance in a fuzzy bear suit, as his image on the candy bar wrapper croons, “break me off a piece of that Kit Kat bar.”

The Jan. 7-8 shows are part of the rapper’s Magnificent Coloring World Tour.

Promoters BAMP Project and Live Nation are presenting the concert. Based on the experience of ticket-buyers for the sold-0ut Jan. 7 show, promoters and the Blaisdell Center box office issued an advisory: “If inventory doesn’t seem available online at the initial on-sale, it is because demand is high, and there are a large number of people all looking at the same time. Try your search again. Tickets are held for two minutes and if they are not purchased, are released back into the inventory.”

Tickets for the 7 p.m. Jan. 8 show are $45 to $65, plus applicable fees. Beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday, they can be purchased via Ticketmaster.com, by calling 800-745-3000, or in person at the Blaisdell Box Office and Ticketmaster outlets.
