Kit helps save water, energy

Get a jump on Earth Day (April 22) with Hawai‘i Energy’s spring sale on a water- and energy-saving kit.

For $10, you‘ll receive a package of basic green goodies that would cost $80 at retail prices. Shipping is free. Plus, they’ll save you up to $135 a year on your utility bill, according to Hawai‘i Energy, a state energy conservation and efficiency program.

Included are six LED (light-emitting diode) bulbs (60- and 100-watts), that fit regular fixtures, use 80 percent less energy and last up to 25 times longer than regular incandescent bulbs. They last three times longer than CFLs (compact fluorescent lights) and are mercury-free.

Also included: a water-saving shower head and faucet aerators (you may need adapters to fit them to your fixtures).

Available to residents of Hawaii, Honolulu and Maui counties; go to techniart.us/hawaii-feb or call 537-5577 or, toll free, 877-231-8222.
