Argument in Makiki leads to stabbing; 1 man seriously injured

Police arrested a 23-year-old man after he allegedly stabbed another man in Makiki.

At about 12:55 a.m. today, police said the suspect and the victim, a 36-year-old man, were involved in an argument at a Kinau Street residence.

The argument escalated and the suspect stabbed the victim with a dangerous instrument.

EMS said the victim suffered a stab wound to his upper back. He walked to Foodland on South Beretania Street where paramedics arrived and transported him to Queen’s Medical Center in serious condition.

The 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted second-degree murder.

Police are continuing their investigation into the stabbing.
