Arrest made in home invasion robbery in Punchbowl area

Police arrested today a 25-year-old man in connection with a home invasion robbery on May 17 in the Punchbowl area.

The man was one of three men suspected of breaking into a Punchbowl home at 12:35 a.m. May 17, tying up the occupants and taking cash and personal belongings. They also allegedly impersonated police.

One of the suspects also allegedly sexually assaulted one of the victims, police said.

The victims include a 47-year-old man and two women, ages 47 and 20.

Police arrested the man on suspicion of first-degree robbery, three counts of kidnapping, one count of first-degree impersonation of a law enforcement officer and first-degree burglary.

Police are still looking for the other two men, one 30-year-old and another in his 40s.
