Women’s Atomweight World Champion Angela Lee retained her title for the second time.

Mililani’s Angela Lee retained her atomweight world title with a second-round submission victory over Istela Nunes in the main event of ONE Championship: Dynasty of Heroes today at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Singapore.

Lee (8-0) won her sixth mixed martial arts fight by submission when Nunes (5-1) tapped out to an anaconda choke at 2 minutes, 18 seconds of the second round.

The 20-year-old Lee defended her 115-pound belt successfully for the second time in 76 days after beating Jenny Huang in March.

Nunes, a Muay Thai champion, came out firing early and got the best of most exchanges on the feet.

However, Lee was able to take down Nunes in both rounds and dominate on the ground.

The first round ended with Nunes fighting off a twister submission only to take repeated blows to the face for the final 60 seconds.

Lee was able to get Nunes to the ground in the second round and eventually scored her seventh win by either submission or TKO.
