The Honolulu Fire Department rescued an injured hiker who fell about 20 feet today at Maunawili Falls.

The Fire Department responded at 3:01 p.m. to the Maunawili Trail near 1398 Maleko St.

Five fire companies, including Air 1, with 16 personnel responded.

The first unit arrived at 3:11 p.m.

Fire Capt. David Jenkins said the young woman reportedly fell 20 feet while attempting to use a rope swing, and suffered injuries but did not lose consciousness.

HFD personnel hiked along the trail and got to the woman at 3:28 p.m.

She was airlifted to a landing zone at the Maunawili Community District Park and transferred to the Emergency Medical Services at 3:54 p.m.

Fire personnel escorted her two hiking companions, who were uninjured, to the trailhead.
