Man charged in Schofield Barracks sex assault
A 26-year-old man has been charged for allegedly sexually assaulting a 24-year-old woman at Schofield Barracks.
Al-Quadir Tynes appeared at Honolulu District Court today after he was charged Monday with felony abuse of a family or household member, second-degree assault and two counts of first-degree sexual assault. Per Diem Judge Paula Devens set his arraignment for Thursday and confirmed his $500,000 aggregate bail.
The assault occurred Sunday morning. Police said the victim reported the suspect later identified as Tynes allegedly struck her with an unspecified “dangerous instrument” before he sexually assaulted her.
The assault was reported to military police and Honolulu police.
Police arrested Tynes at a Davis Street residence at Schofield Barracks shortly after 11:25 a.m. Sunday.
