15-year-old boy arrested in store robbery

A 15-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of first-degree robbery.

Police arrested a 15-year-old boy after he allegedly robbed a convenience store in Kalihi.

At about 3 a.m. Thursday, police said, the teen entered the store on School Street and brandished an unspecified instrument at a 65-year-old store employee. The juvenile then took two packs of cigarettes before he fled on foot.

Police said the boy was located a few hours later in the Kalihi area and arrested on suspicion of first-degree robbery.
