Man arrested for possible sexual assault in Kailua
Police arrested a 51-year-old man Friday for investigation of sexual assault after a witness reported seeing him possibly sexually assaulting a 35-year-old woman in Kailua.
Police said the witness reported the incident happened at about 8:10 a.m. Friday.
The man and the woman had been drinking, and the witness, who police described as a friend of the woman, found them both asleep in a compromising position, police said.
The man was arrested about 1 p.m. Friday in Kailua for investigation of first-degree sexual assault and third-degree assault. The investigation was continuing.
