Pedestrian in Waipahu fatality identified

A 43-year-old man who died after being struck by a vehicle in Waipahu has been identified as Shannon L. Corpuz.

Corpuz, of Waipahu, died Sunday after he was struck by a vehicle near the intersection of Mokuola and Waipahu streets.

The Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office said Corpuz died of blunt force injuries to the head. The manner of death was classified as an accident.

Police have said it’s unknown whether speed was involved.

Alcohol was not a factor.
