The Hawaiian Electric Company said Likelike Highway will be closed on both sides leading into Wilson Tunnel from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Monday for equipment upgrades at a substation. Motorists are advised to use the H-3 freeway or Pali Highway.

Kaneohe-bound, closures are scheduled on the highway just after the Nalanieha Street intersection, in addition to single-lane closures leading up to that intersection to control traffic flow in the area.

Residents wanting access to Emmeline Place will need to seek permission from special-duty police officers stationed at the Nalanieha Street intersection. Residents on Emmeline Place and in the Valley View Drive area may still drive onto Likelike Highway, but only in the Honolulu-bound direction.

Honolulu-bound, Likelike Highway will be closed after the H-3 exit to Honolulu, with a single-lane closure that begins before the Kahekili Highway intersection. There will also be a single-lane closure on Kahekili before the intersection with Likelike, reducing traffic lanes turning right onto Likelike to only one lane.

Traffic signs, control measures and special-duty police officers will help to control traffic.
