Downed lines knock out power to more than 1,800 customers in Makaha

Power has been restored to nearly 1,820 customers in Makaha after an outage occurred earlier today.

The outage occurred at about 8:20 a.m. due to downed power lines on Lahaina Street. Power was restored at about 10 a.m., according to Shannon Tangonan, spokeswoman of the Hawaiian Electric Co.

Police said an electrical transformer blew in the area.

Areas impacted by the outage include Jade Street, Kaulawaha Road, Lahaina Street, Hanalei Street, Ikuone Place, Ala Naauao Place, Manuku Street, Hana Street and Farrington Highway.
