Work furlough inmate escapes
A 52-year-old Laumaka work furlough inmate failed to return at noon today to the work furlough center.
Keith DeGuzman was serving time for third-degree promotion of a detrimental drug and drug paraphernalia.
He was scheduled for a parole hearing in August.
The Department of Public Safety said in a news release he now faces an escape charge.
DeGuzman is a community custody inmate in the work furlough program with pass privileges.
Community custody is the lowest classification, Public Safety said.
