>> Mayor Kirk Caldwell’s operating budget for the coming fiscal year is $2.61 billion. The amount was inaccurate in a story on a proposal for additional lifeguards at Hanauma Bay on Page B1 Monday.

>> The new NBC series “Rise” features a character who is a transgender boy. The role was mischaracterized in “On the Scene” on Page D3 Sunday.

>> Stephanie Kendrick, public policy advocate for the Hawaiian Humane Society, the West Hawaii Humane Society and Hawaii Association of Animal Welfare Agencies are asking that penalties for violations of the animal cruelty law pertaining to dogs tethered outdoors are the same as for other violations under the law. Their supporting testimony on the penalty was misinterpreted in a story on House Bill 2072 on Page B2 Sunday.
