Water main break briefly closes stretch of Coral Street in Kakaako

Auahi St. remained blocked off at the intersection with Pohukaina St. this morning at 7 a.m. The entire block makai of the intersection had been closed shortly before 4 a.m. due to flooding from a broken water main. However, most of the street had been reopened within three hours.

A water main break forced the closure of a block of Coral Street in Kakaako early this morning. However, most of the block had been reopened within hours.

Minor flooding from a broken water main on Coral Street between Auahi and Pohukaina streets was reported shortly before 4 a.m. by police. By 7 a.m., most of the street had been reopened. However, Coral Street at the intersection with Pohukaina Street remained closed.

The street hosts a significant portion of the free public parking in the area.
