Nonprofit seeks volunteers to serve free keiki meals
Parents and Children Together is seeking more volunteers to serve free meals to keiki during its Summer Food Service Program.
The local non-profit began serving meals last Monday to more than 100 keiki in need from noon to 1:30 p.m. weekdays at The Towers at Kuhio Park. The meals are served to children and youth 18 years old and under who qualify for free meals at public schools until Aug. 3.
While school is in session, some students only have one nutritious meal a day. The summer program fills that meal gap when school is out.
More volunteers are needed to help set up, serve meals and break down after lunch service. To volunteer, call 847-3285 or email info@pacthawaii.org.
