A fire burned on the roof of the Ae’o condominium building Monday night.

Honolulu firefighters responded to a fire at a luxury condominium building in Kakaako late Monday.

Eleven fire units with over 40 firefighters responded to the blaze on the rooftop of Ae’o at 1001 Queen St. shortly after 10:30 p.m. Honolulu Fire Spokesman Capt. Scot Seguirant said a stack of construction materials were observed burning on the roof.

Firefighters brought the fire under control at 10:59 p.m. and extinguished it within 20 minutes. Damage was confined to the building materials on the roof.

No injuries were reported.

Seguirant said the cause of the fire is under investigation.

In an e-mailed statement, a Ward Village spokeswoman said the residential building is an active construction site. The parking garage at Ae’o that includes parking for the Whole Foods Market is open.
