The USS Arizona Memorial visitor center and all of the other Pearl Harbor historic sites will remain open during a federal government shutdown, officials said Friday.

The nonprofit organizations that operate the four sites — Pacific Historic Parks, which assists the Arizona Memorial, USS Bowfin Submarine Museum & Park, Battleship Missouri Memorial and Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum — have jointly committed to provide the financial support to allow the National Park Service to continue daily operations, Pacific Historic Parks officials said.

Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park said in a news release Friday night that facilities will remain “as accessible as possible” during the shutdown.

Visitor assistance provided by NPS, such as public information, will not be in place; emergency and rescue services also will be limited. A number of areas will remain open, and entrance fees will not be charged.

The park notes that due to the shutdown, NPS social media and websites might not reflect current conditions since they will not be monitored or updated.
