Honolulu police investigating shooting, stabbing in Kalihi

Honolulu police are investigating a stabbing and a shooting that happened 30 minutes and less than half a mile apart in Kalihi Sunday.

The city’s Emergency Medical Services reports that one of its ambulance crews responded to a 7:30 p.m. report of stabbing victim at North School and Linapuni streets and that another ambulance crew responded to 8 p.m. report of a gunshot victim at Kamehameha IV Road and Kilolani Place.

EMS says the stabbing victim is a 44-year-old man and the shooting victim, a 23-year-old man. Both victims went to the hospital in serious condition.

Police have yet to determine whether or not the two incidents are related.
