Sports broadcaster Bobby Curran was arrested Thursday for allegedly assaulting his 15-year-old son.

According to police, Curran, 63, and his son were involved in a verbal dispute that escalated into a physical confrontation. The boy sustained undisclosed injuries after being struck by a “dangerous instrument,” police said.

Curran, the host of “The Bobby Curran Show” on KKEA-AM/ESPN 1420 and play-by-play announcer for University of Hawaii football and men’s basketball, was arrested at his Hawaii Kai residence on suspicion of second-degree assault. He was later released pending charges.
