Kailua residents gathered for the annual Lanikai Woes Day Run/Parade to kick off the new year with a footrace, breakfast, float parade and entertainment from a local jazz band.

This year’s theme “Get the scoop as you bike the loop” poked fun at issues facing Lanikai and Kailua residents. Parade signs declared “Poo Poo Police,” “Scoop da Poop in da Loop” and “Get the Scoop, Bike the Loop.” The event is sponsored by the Lanikai Community Association, which aims to preserve the quality of life for Lanikai residents.
