Man with gunshot wound drives himself to Aina Haina parking lot, dials 911

Police have opened an attempted murder investigation after a 42-year-old man with a gunshot wound in his leg drove himself to the Aina Haina Longs Drugs parking lot and called 911 early this morning.

Honolulu police said that an unknown adult male suspect wearing a black hoodie and a black bandana fired several rounds at the victim at about 1:15 a.m.

The victim was struck once and suffered a gunshot wound to his left thigh. He drove himself to the parking lot of the Aina Haina Longs and called 911. Paramedics treated the man and transported him to the hospital in stable condition at about 2:20 a.m., according to city Emergency Medical Services officials.

Police did not give the exact location of the shooting and said they have made no arrests so far.
