At about 1:30 p.m. police located the man near the intersection of Kuwili Street and Iwilei Road and arrested him on suspicion of kidnapping and sex assault.

Police said this man is suspected of sexually assaulting a 49-year-old woman at 6 a.m. Wednesday who was waiting at a bus stop at 866 Iwilei Road.

The suspect dragged her across the street into a building and sexually assaulted her, then fled in an unknown direction, police said.

Correction: Honolulu police issued an update saying that the suspect was arrested near the intersection of Kuwili Street and Iwilei Road, and not at the city’s Punawai Rest Stop, as was reported in an earlier version of this story.
