Crews rescue man who fell 30 feet from Olomana Ridge Trail

A man in his 40s was rescued Friday morning after he fell 30 feet from the Olomana Ridge Trail.

The man was seriously hurt after his fall was broken by a tree at about 11 a.m, officials said, and he was airlifted from the scene by a Honolulu Fire Department helicopter to Maunawili Valley Neighborhood Park, where an ambulance took him to the hospital.

Two women who witnessed the fall and who had alerted authorities were also airlifted from the area.
