A 66-year-old woman died after she was found unresponsive this morning while snorkeling from a commercial dive boat off West Hawaii.

The woman was discovered face down in the water and brought back aboard the dive vessel, where boat employees initiated cardiopulmonary resuscitation, Hawaii County fire officials said.

Medics and fire personnel met the boat at Kealakekua Bay at about 10 a.m. and transported the woman in cardiac arrest to Kona Community Hospital. She later died, officials said.
