Man, 47, charged for drug possession, dealing on Big Isle
Hawaii island police have charged a 47-year-old man after public complaints about possible narcotics distribution in the Keauhou Bay area of Kahaluu Beach Park.
Following a months-long investigation, police on Wednesday arrested Samuel Keohokapu of Pahoa for promotion of a dangerous drug in the third degree after a canine narcotic screen of his vehicle resulted in a positive alert.
Officers recovered 0.3 grams of heroin and 55.6 grams of crystal methamphetamine from his car parked along Kaleiopapa Street in Keauhou, which included 14 one-eighth ounce zip-baggies, packaged for distribution.
Keohokapu was also arrested for two counts of promotion of a dangerous drug in the first degree.
On Friday, he was charged for all offenses and his bail set at $22,000.
Hawaii island police encourage community members to continue reporting suspected drug activity.
