2 water main breaks affect Hawaii Kai residents, traffic
Two separate main breaks in Hawaii Kai are affecting water service and vehicular traffic today.
At 7:15 a.m. Sunday, Board of Water Supply personnel responded to a broken water main around 385 Portlock Road. About 25 customers and two fire hydrants currently don’t have access to water; Portlock is closed between Anahola Street and Lunalilo Home Road near Koko Head Neighborhood Park.
Another break was reported around 8:45 a.m. on Sunday near 6106 Kawekiu Place in Kuliouou. Four residences are without water; a water wagon is stationed at 6126 Kawekiu Place.
A third water main break on Keahole Street between Safeway and Hawaii Kai Drive has been repaired and the street reopened today. A contractor repaved the mauka-bound lanes by the One Keahole condominium and will return Tuesday to repave the makai-bound lanes.
