Mark L. Rosskopf was indicted on charges of sexual assault and promoting pornography for minors. He pleaded not guilty today.

A Waipahu man pleaded not guilty in Circuit Court to charges of sex assault and promoting pornography involving a girl.

Mark L. Rosskopf was arraigned at court before Judge Melanie May via circuit video link from the Oahu Community Correctional Center on charges of promoting pornography for minors, first-degree sexual assault and third-degree sexual assault.

Deputy Public Defender Doris Lum entered a not guilty plea to all charges on Rosskopf’s behalf.

She requested supervised release and alternatively a bail reduction saying Rosskopf lives with his family in Waipahu and is unemployed.

Deputy Prosecutor Danica Swenson asserted the offenses involving the minor are “quite egregious.”

May denied the requests and confirmed Rosskopf’s bail at $50,000. His trial is set for October.

The alleged offenses occurred from July 2015 to May 2016 involving a girl age 14 or younger. Rosskopf was 28 at the time.

Police arrested him in Waipio Gentry on Aug. 15 after an Oahu grand jury indicted him with sex assault and promoting pornography charges.
