Free community testing for COVID-19 will be held Saturday morning at Kekaha Elementary School.

Free community testing for COVID-19 will be held Saturday morning at Kekaha Elementary School after several new cases have been identified in the area, according to Kauai Mayor Derek Kawakami.

The Kauai District Health Office, in partnership with the County, will offer free, drive-up testing from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Kekaha Elementary. All ages are welcome, and there is no charge for the testing and pre-registering online is not required.

At the same time, Kauai County’s weekly Sunday surge testing program in partnership with the state Health Department continues Sunday in Lihue, Dec. 6 in Kapaa, and Dec. 13 in Hanapepe. The testing is free regardless of health insurance or symptoms.

Online pre-registration is strongly encouraged for the weekly Sunday surge testing events at kauai.gov/test.

Any residents or individuals that receive a positive test notification should immediately notify the Kauai District Health Office at 241-3387.
